Description
The Koji Hara Medake is an elegant folding knife that reflects the natural beauty and structure of bamboo through meticulous craftsmanship and artistic detail. This used model is a refined collector piece, showcasing Koji Hara’s signature blend of traditional inspiration and precision hand finishing.
The design draws heavily from bamboo motifs, with the handle shaped to resemble five segments of a bamboo stalk. The scales are crafted from stunning black lip mother-of-pearl, separated by steel spacers for contrast and structural balance. Matching mother-of-pearl is used on the thumb stud, while detailed bamboo engravings appear along the blade spine and handle spacer. The blade itself features carved bamboo leaf clusters, reinforcing the cohesive nature-inspired theme throughout the knife.
The 2.625″ drop point blade is made from premium Cowry-Y steel, known for its excellent edge retention and ability to achieve an exceptional mirror polish. The hollow grind enhances cutting precision, while the jeweled liner lock provides smooth operation and secure lockup. Every surface is carefully finished, resulting in a highly polished presentation that highlights the premium materials used.
Compact, lightweight, and beautifully detailed, this handmade Japanese knife is both a functional cutting tool and a collectible piece of craftsmanship. The knife includes a traditional Japanese kimono cloth pouch for storage and presentation.
