Microtech Size Breakdown

Size matters. At least when it comes to your everyday carry. Features to consider when choosing your new knife are the different lengths such as the blade, handle, and overall lengths. And if you’re looking for a lot of options, Microtech has created an extensive offering of many different lengths and sizes. I’m going to compare a few of them for you all today to give you an idea of the main differences.

First up, the Microtech Cypher II. This is a beautiful knife with an incredibly smooth action. The handle is 5 inches long and the blade comes in at 3.5 inches, making this knife a full 8.5 inches overall. Not bad. The titanium ball on the pocket clip ensures an easy draw with no snagging.

The traditional Ultratech has a blade measuring 3.44 inches and a handle measuring 4.6 inches, meaning this knife also measures right about 8.5 inches when you add in the glass breaker. The handle width on the Ultratech is quite a bit slimmer than that of the Cypher, giving the Ultratech a more streamlined feel in your grasp.

For those of you who prefer a knife that is just a little smaller than the Ultratech, Microtech produced the UTX-85. This beauty is scaled down to 85% the size of the Ultratech. This model boasts a 4.4 inch handle, a 3.13 inch blade, an overall length of 7.5 inches with the glass breaker. A lot of our customers here at Knifehub prefer the scaled down UTX-85 as it is said to fit their hand better.

Last but certainly not least, the Hera II Mini. I have nothing but good to say about this knife. With an overall length of 6.9 inches, this guy is the perfect EDC for anyone. The blade is just under 3 inches and the handle measures 3.95 inches. Although it is compact, the action is incredible and there is very little blade play. The Hera II Mini features Microtech’s new Dual Fuel firing system which makes blade deployment almost effortless. If you’re looking for a birthday present for someone special or treating yourself, look no further.

When it comes to choosing a new knife, the size is a very big determinate. How it fits in your hand and pocket affects how much you love your new blade. Microtech offers more than enough models for even the pickiest consumer. Check out our entire collection and get your new favorite carry at Knifehub.com!
