The 2023 Microtech LUDT Gen III represents the evolution of one of Microtech’s most legendary designs. First introduced in the mid-1990s as the Underwater Demolition Team knife, the LUDT quickly became one of the brand’s fastest-selling and most trusted models. After a brief absence, this iconic folder returns refined, updated, and better than ever.

The Gen III LUDT features a meticulously engineered drop point blade crafted from Bohler M390MK stainless steel, complete with a crowned spine, reinforced tip, thumb ramp jimping, and a newly added blood groove/fuller. These enhancements improve penetration and strength while maintaining excellent balance and durability. The Apocalyptic blade finish adds a battle-worn aesthetic while enhancing corrosion resistance.

Its handle is precision-machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and fitted with integrated 3M traction tape inserts, delivering a secure grip in all conditions without adding unnecessary bulk. Every component—from the button lock to the stainless steel pocket clip—has been carefully refined for smoother operation, improved ergonomics, and a clean, modern look. Lightning-fast deployment is driven by a pivot system riding on 24 silica carbide bearings.

Returning with modern upgrades, the 2023 LUDT Gen III now includes Torx hardware and a dedicated lanyard hole, further enhancing its practicality and long-term serviceability.
