Built for real-world abuse and proven in the field, the DPx HEST/F 2.0 is a hard-use folder that refuses to compromise. This one is used, but it’s still every bit the overbuilt, expedition-ready tool the HEST name is known for.

Originally developed as the folding counterpart to the fixed blade HEST, the Hostile Environment Survival Tool® quickly earned a reputation for durability in demanding environments—from backcountry hunts to global deployments. The 2.0 version takes that legacy even further with meaningful upgrades driven by real-world feedback.

At its core is a thick 3.25″ German D2 tool steel blade with a black mil-spec coating. Nearly 0.20″ thick at the spine, it’s built for strength and serious cutting tasks. The patented RotoBlock system transforms the frame lock into a reinforced mechanism that effectively locks the folder into a fixed-blade-like configuration, adding confidence during heavy use.

The 2.0 improvements include the removal of the stainless liner in favor of a thicker 4mm Olive Drab G10 structural scale—reducing corrosion potential while increasing strength and lowering weight. Subtle geometry refinements to the pivot, lock interface, thumb stud, and heel improve smoothness and lock integrity. A redesigned, tighter 3mm pocket clip enhances durability and carry security.

The stonewashed Grade 5 (6AL4V) titanium frame provides a rock-solid backbone, and the integrated glass breaker adds emergency capability. It also includes the signature stainless steel skull tool for field adjustments and utility tasks.
